Second Annual Regional Research Conference...Literacy is more than ABC's

June 25, 2008 - The Second Annual Regional Research Conference, sponsored by the School of Education and APEX Learning, will be held on July 25, 2008, at Union University – Germantown Campus. The conference theme, Literacy is more than ABC's, focuses on critical literacy issues faced by many educators in the teaching and learning environment.

The presentation topics include discovering the literacy needs of students at all grade levels, teaching linguistically different students, using technology to enhance classroom literacy instruction, and identifying trends in school library media services. The plenary sessions and concurrent sessions feature presenters from the Tri-State Memphis area and include representation from Union University’s faculty, graduate students, and alumni. A special feature of this year’s conference will be a presentation of literacy software by APEX Learning (http://www.apexlearningcenter.com/)

Educators and those with an interest in education in the Tri-State area of Memphis are encouraged to attend. Cost for this year’s conference is $10.00 a person.
