Union University Begins First Doctoral Classes

September 20, 2002 - Fourteen students at Union University’s Jackson Campus made history on September 3, 2002. They were the first to begin doctoral studies in the Doctor of Education program. The initial class is Intermediate Statistics, taught by Dr. Linn Stranak.

The students beginning the doctoral program have already completed the Education Specialist segment of the degree. Union University is unique in incorporating the Ed.S. degree within the doctoral program. The completion component of the program consists of nine hours in research statistics, followed by a year for the dissertation.

Jackson Ed.D. students attend their first class.
