Transfer Orientation

We are excited that you have transferred to Union University! Below you will find information on the specific orientation that you will attend depending on your housing status and the time of year that you have transferred to Union.

Also, before you come to campus for your orientation, please make sure you look over and complete these necessary forms.

Fall Orientation

All Residential Transfer Students beginning in the Fall are required to attend Focus

Transfer students who are living off-campus have two orientation options below:

Option 1

This year's fall semester orientation dinner will be held Monday, August 19th at 5:00 pm in the Carl Grant Events Center. The evening's schedule will be as follows:

5:00-5:20pm: Welcome, Introductions
5:20-6:20pm: Dr. Gene Fant, Academic Integrity
Academic Services
Ms. Cindy Shirley, Credit by exam and testing options
Dr. Jenny Lowery, Library Orientation
Information Technology Orientation
6:20-6:40pm: Mr. Lee Wilson, Campus Ministries Opportunities
Dr. Kimberly Thornbury, Student Services

Because we are serving a meal, it is essential to let us know you are coming. Please do so by contacting Karen Taylor (ktaylor@uu.edu) in the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement.

Option 2

New student orientation is not just for freshmen. Union has tailored small groups and specifically trained leaders who will work with the new transfer students. Find out more about the full new student orientation experience. If you are a commuting transfer who would like to participate in the full orientation experience, please contact Jared Dauenhauer (jdauenhauer@uu.edu) in the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement.

Spring Orientation

The vast majority of the students who begin taking classes during the winter are transfer students, though it is certainly not uncommon for a first-year student to start then either. For both groups, we have designed a one-evening dinner to communicate all the essential information a new Union student needs to know.

Various members of the faculty and staff from across campus will be available to provide the information you need to know as well as answering any questions you have.

Also, before you come to campus for your orientation, please make sure you look over and complete these necessary forms.

This year's spring semester orientation dinner will be held Tuesday, January 28th at 5:00pm in the Grant Events Center. The evening's schedule will be as follows:
