Concentrations
Pre-Child Life Concentration
The Pre-Child Life emphasis in Family Studies at Union University prepares students for work with children and families in healthcare and therapeutic settings. Coursework in sociology of health, adolescent psychology, and death and dying builds the foundational knowledge needed for graduate studies and careers supporting children through medical experiences.
Family Ministry Concentration
The Family Ministry emphasis in Family Studies at Union University prepares students to serve families in church and community contexts. Drawing on courses in sociology of religion, gerontology, youth ministry, and faith-based social services, students are equipped for ministry roles that support families across every stage of life.
Pre-Counseling Concentration
The Pre-Counseling emphasis in Family Studies at Union University provides foundational preparation for students pursuing graduate study in counseling or social work. Coursework in psychopathology, counseling theory, and social diversity equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue advanced training in clinical mental health, marriage and family therapy, or related fields.
