The College of Education and Human Studies houses a relatively diverse grouping of
academic disciplines, including the School of Education and the Departments of Social
Work, Sociology and Family Studies, Psychology, Physical Education-Wellness-Sport
and Continuing Studies. The College has eleven undergraduate majors along with the
non-traditional degree completion majors administered by the Department of Continuing
Studies in conjunction with other university departments. The College also offers four
graduate degrees, including the M.A.Ed., M.Ed., Ed.S., and Ed.D. Three of the programs
offered in the College are nationally accredited, including Teacher Education (NCATE),
Social Work, (CSWE), and Athletic Training (CAAHEP). Graduate programs are offered
on the Jackson and Germantown campuses.
Connecting these disciplines is a commitment to the implications and applications of
the Great Commandment: a sincere desire to apply knowledge and improve the lives of people
in the name and through the love of Christ.
