Instructional Technology & Media Services

As more of the university's new Information Technology web site is developed, additional resources will be added about instructional technology and media services. If you have questions about this service, please use the contacts listed in Getting Help on the right of this page.

Media/Video Services

To support courses through the use of audio or video, faculty members can include media clips in existing Blackboard or MoodleRooms courses. Media clips (the audio/video files) are placed on the university's streaming server, which provides reliable and effective distribution of these resources.

A unique 'embed code' is required to link the learning management system (Blackboard/MoodleRooms) course to a specific media clip.

For more information including embed-code instructions, visit the the employee-only information section of IT's portal site. (To log into this site, use uu\ and your employee username, then your university password.)

Web Conferencing

Union has contracted with WebEx.com to provide two web conferencing accounts for use by the university's employees. In its simplest form, a web conference allows someone in the conference to share what's on his or her computer screen while a group phone call allows discussion. A web conference time may be reserved by faculty or staff for instructional or meeting purposes.
