Dr. Benny Tucker Retires
May 11, 2004 - Dr. Benny Tucker has served Union University in several roles during his thirteen-year tenure. He came to Union as Chair of the Education Department and became the first dean of Education and Human Services. Prior to coming to Union, Dr. Tucker had served in key positions at Carson-Newman University, Hannibal-LaGrange College (Missouri), and Illinois State University. He is the author of 16 books and more than 30 professional articles. In related professional activity, he has made more than 40 presentations at professional meetings. Dr. Tucker has authored two college-level math texts. His most recent one was co-authored by Drs. Ann Singleton and Terry Weaver. Dr. Tucker will be remembered by students and faculty for his superb teaching, quick wit, and creative stories and poetry. His current plans are for a decreased teaching load as an adjunct professor.
