At the beginning of the fall and spring semesters faculty participate in an extended development opportunity that includes either departmental and interdepartmental dialogue on current topics or concurrent sessions offered by faculty colleagues and campus leaders.

PowerPoint | Reflection QuestionsOn August 23, 2010, members of the Academic Council participated in the first of a series of workshops on being effective academic leaders. In the opening session Dr. David Dockery outlined the characteristics of effective leaders and introduced the Renewing Minds principles to be examined in future sessions. Dr. Mark Bolyard led the follow-up session focused on mission-driven leadership. Future workshops will examine the role of academic leaders in reclaiming and applying the Christian Intellectual Tradition, in emphasizing the Great Commandment, and in building a grace-filled community.
